Data Deletion Instructions

OVEL, operated by Weiland Enterprises LTD (Themistokle Dervi 48, Floor 3, Office 306, 1066 Nicosia, Cyprus, Registration Number ΗΕ 451507), respects your right to have your personal data deleted. This page explains how to request deletion of any personal data that OVEL holds about you.
1. Who this applies to
- Business customers with an OVEL account (operators using the platform to send WhatsApp Business messages).
- End users (message recipients) whose phone number, opt-in record or message history was processed by OVEL on behalf of a business customer.
2. How to request deletion
Send an email to delete@ovel.io with the subject line "Data Deletion Request" and include the following information so we can locate your data:
- For business customers: the email address associated with your OVEL account and, if possible, your company name.
- For end users / message recipients: the WhatsApp phone number for which you want your data deleted, and the name of the business that contacted you via WhatsApp (if known). This helps us identify which OVEL business customer holds your data, since for end-user data OVEL acts as a processor on behalf of that business.
- A short statement confirming that you are requesting deletion of your personal data.
3. What we will delete
Upon a valid request we will delete:
- Your account data (for business customers): profile, login credentials, billing details.
- Contact data stored in OVEL: phone numbers, names, custom fields.
- Opt-in records, message content and delivery metadata associated with you.
For end-user data, we will forward the request to the relevant business customer (controller) without undue delay and instruct deletion in our systems. Certain data may be retained where we are legally required to do so (e.g. accounting records, opt-out suppression lists kept to prevent further contact).
4. Meta Platform Data
Where the data was transmitted to the WhatsApp Business Platform operated by Meta Platforms, Inc. for the sole purpose of delivering messages, deletion within OVEL covers the data stored by OVEL. Meta retains message delivery information according to its own retention policies; please also refer to WhatsApp's Privacy Policy.
5. Response time
We confirm receipt of your request within 5 business days and complete deletion within 30 days, in line with Art. 12(3) GDPR. If we need to extend this period (e.g. for complex requests), we will inform you.
6. Stop receiving WhatsApp messages immediately
If you simply want to stop receiving WhatsApp messages from a business that contacted you through OVEL, you can also reply STOP to the WhatsApp conversation. Your number will be added to the suppression list and you will not be contacted again by that business through OVEL.
